From the LIPS of Lou Gossett Jr.
The talented actor was a guest lecturer for Black History Month earlier this week at Hart High. The Academy Award-winning thespian spoke at length on racism and intolerance. Short version? He's against them. As Mr. Gossett is getting the VIP tour, he jokes: "This is a great high school. I'll tell you what. They sure know how to PARTY!" Gossett laughed and then attempted the King's X: "That's an outtake! That's an outtake!" Sorry, Lou. Two things we know in entertainment: 1) There's no crying in baseball; and, B) There are no outtakes for The Count. Now. To balance out the karmic scales - make sure you go out right now and buy - not rent, but buy - every Lou Gossett movie ever made. Here's a list of not his best movies, but our favorite and varied LG roles: "Diggstown" as boxer Honey Ray Palmer "El Diablo" as the pistol fighter Van Leek in this offbeat Western "Enemy Mine" as the alien Drac "Sadat" as the president of Egypt And, duh, his Oscar and Golden Globe-winning performance as Sgt.

Grammy Awards - Entertainment Law - Music Industry Faces Lingering ...
More recording artists bypass major record labels; Burns & Levinson entertainment attorney George N. Tobia Jr. raises issues in the new music arena BOSTON--LAWFUEL - Entertainment Law News -As a growing number of singers and other recording artists bypass major record labels in favor of distributing music via the Internet, questions persist regarding the financial future of the music industry, says George N. Tobia Jr., an entertainment and media lawyer for Boston-based Burns & Levinson. The good news is that, as with self-publishing, recording artists are able to distribute their music directly to an audience without using a record label, said Tobia, chairman of Burns & Levinsons Entertainment & Media Law Group. But when these artists attain notoriety, how do they benefit financially with no backing from a record label? That will be a key question in the music industry, for artists and labels alike.
Chocolate bon-bons for the brain
You've flipped the television station when someone walks in and you are watching some mind-numbing show. You've kept the book lying flat on your lap in the hope that no one will see the seductive cover. You've leaned over the weekly entertainment magazine when a person approaches you on the treadmill. It's those little bits of entertainment that serve as junk food for your mind. They may not be necessarily hurting you, but they certainly aren't helping you. As with food, it's best taken in moderation. You can eat one chocolate-covered bon bon a day and still maintain your figure. Eat a whole box a day and you'll need a new wardrobe soon. You can delve into mindless television shows occasionally and still hold an intelligent conversation. Make reality shows your only form of entertainment and you may begin to feel those I.Q.
