STUDIO BRIEFING TV: March 2, 2007

The giant Creative Artists Agency apparently got more than it bargained for after it announced that it had signed conservative talk-show host Michael Savage as a client this week. No sooner had his name been added to its roster than Savage ranted on the air against another CAA client, singer Melissa Etheridge, who thanked her wife, Tammy Lyn Michaels, when she accepted an Oscar during Sunday's televised Academy Awards presentations. "I don't like a woman married to a woman," Savage railed. "It makes me want to puke." As for children raised by two women, Savage stormed, "I think it's child abuse." CAA quickly found itself in the center of the conflict. Late on Thursday, E! Entertainment's website said that it had received a terse email from a CAA representative that read only: "No longer rep him." JESUS DOCUMENTARY DRAWING MORE FIREThe Rev.

Jail and Child Support??

Here is the story: CANTON, Mass. (Feb. ) - Bobby Brown was ordered on Monday to remain in a county jail until he pays $19,000 in late child support and court fees, his lawyer said. "We're diligently working on getting those funds available from outside sources," said Phaedra Parks, an attorney in Atlanta where Brown currently lives. Parks doubted Brown would get out of jail before Tuesday morning. http://news.aol.com/entertainment/music/articles/_a/bobby-brown-arrested-over-child-support/20070226143109990001Ok, this is what I do not understand. They make this out like it's a huge deal, right? Doesn't Whitney have a crap load of money, too? I do believe that fathers (based on income of the Mom and Dad) should be responsible for providing finacial support; however, if Bobby Brown was a regular Joe and Whitney Houston a regular Jane: No one would be doing anything.

Chris Klaus’ Kaneva hunts real money in a virtual world

There is no subscription fee to join Kaneva. However, Klaus said the company will have several revenue streams, including the sale of virtual items and real advertising and merchandising. For example, members watching a video on a virtual television could also see real ads. Another source of income could be corporate sponsorship of video games or events like film festivals on the site.

It is not just about selling. Its about creating an experience, Klaus said. Companies are going to have to realize theres a big shift. People are not being spoon-fed the messages any more, and the marketing will have to enable interface with your company.

Klaus believes Kanevas focus on arts and entertainment will set it apart from other virtual worlds. Still, it will face intense competition from new and existing sites in the virtual galaxy.
