UPDATE 2-Harrah's profit burdened by weak Atlantic City

NEW YORK, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Harrah's Entertainment Inc. (HET.N: Quote, Profile, Research), which agreed in December to be acquired by two private equity firms for $17.1 billion, posted lower-than-expected quarterly profit on Tuesday amid weak earnings at its casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Increasing competition from the new Borgata casino and gaming in nearby Pennsylvania are taking their toll on Atlantic City, the second-largest gambling destination in the United States after Las Vegas.

"Atlantic City definitely has some issues in front of it," said Smedes Rose, an analyst at Calyon Securities. "Clearly, it's hard to argue that a significant amount of new competition is a positive."

The weak results from Harrah's as well as a first-quarter profit warning from casino equipment market Shuffle Master Inc.

Jail and Child Support??

Here is the story: CANTON, Mass. (Feb. ) - Bobby Brown was ordered on Monday to remain in a county jail until he pays $19,000 in late child support and court fees, his lawyer said. "We're diligently working on getting those funds available from outside sources," said Phaedra Parks, an attorney in Atlanta where Brown currently lives. Parks doubted Brown would get out of jail before Tuesday morning. http://news.aol.com/entertainment/music/articles/_a/bobby-brown-arrested-over-child-support/20070226143109990001Ok, this is what I do not understand. They make this out like it's a huge deal, right? Doesn't Whitney have a crap load of money, too? I do believe that fathers (based on income of the Mom and Dad) should be responsible for providing finacial support; however, if Bobby Brown was a regular Joe and Whitney Houston a regular Jane: No one would be doing anything.

More Like Reno 91Fun!!!

Maybe they should have just called Reno 911: Miami "Reno 9111," adding the extra digit to demonstrate how the film is simply an extended version of the TV show only with curse words, blood, a pair of naked breasts and The Rock.
Since it's pretty much agreed upon that most people in the movies target demographic (men) enjoy curse words, blood, breasts and The Rock, your enjoyment of the movie is going to be based on whether or not you like the television show, and believe that type of comedy can fill an hour and half.
The simple answer from my perspective (male) is yes. There's just enough plot to hang the jokes on, as the "Reno 911" crew is forced to cover a major city, Miami, because the rest of the cops in the area have been poisoned.
Yes, a man getting bitten by an alligator is funny.
