BET's College Hill 4 Premieres a Sizzling New Season on Tuesday ...

"I was very proud of COLLEGE HILL 3, which had the best ratings and best viewer response of the series," said Reginald Hudlin, BET President of Entertainment. "But I can say COLLEGE HILL 4 takes it to another level. It is truly outrageous!"

In the first episode, the new roommates meet and greet each other with a little trepidation. There's Krystal, the upscale girl from the real O.C. who often finds herself at the root of all the dissention between the two groups; JT, a wannabe rapper from Compton, Calif. struggling to remain true to his girlfriend while actively being pursued by one of his new Virgin Islander roommates; Fallon, the one woman you don't want to cross from Inglewood, Calif.; and Willie from L.A., who is "single as hell" and constantly looking.

Representing the Caribbean crew are the outspoken and outrageous Idesha--she's the one relentlessly pursuing JT; Chicky, a soft-spoken star athlete who generally gets along with the Californians until they start trash talking his island; Vanessa, a gorgeous green-eyed girl who has a hard time adjusting to the Cali kids and their attitudes; and Andres, a pretty boy with bedroom eyes and a smile that melts butter, who likes to sit back and take in the drama.

Heard on Campus: Sony BMG Music Entertainment VP Lisa Ellis

"Music is as popular now if not more popular than ever. Everything is stocked with music in the background. It's probably more vibrant than ever before. The technology, though, has shifted how you receive it and how you buy it.... [Physical units] will still exist, because as with anything, like the book community, people will still want to see and feel the product. There will still be a physical business; it just might not be the prominent business we're in. The reason why we're doing programs with students and working with schools like Penn State is to see where the digital business can go." --Lisa Ellis, executive vice president of Sony BMG Music Entertainment, speaking to Penn State students Tuesday (Feb. 20) afternoon at the HUB Robeson Center on the University Park campus. Ellis chatted with Penn State President Graham Spanier and fielded questions from students about the music industry.

A rose by any other name would suck as bad

If anyone has learned anything from film sequels, it's that if the first one sucked, chances are the second one will suck more.

Phillip J. Bartell and Q. Allan Brocka take this to a whole new level in their addition to this year's Fairy Tales gay and lesbian film festival, Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds.

Proud of being "the first American gay sequel ever"--apart from a number of releases by companies with names like Banana Boy Video, etc.--the film follows the frolics of newly-single Kyle (Jim Verraros) as he tries to score with ripped nude artist model Troy (Marco Dapper) by pretending to be straight and joining an ex-gay support group. Meanwhile, Kyle's ex-boyfriend, Marc (Brett Chuckerman) has his own plans for Troy, and pursues him as his out-gay self. Which one will seduce Troy first?

The first thought that comes to mind when watching the opening scene--of two dudes getting it on in a kind of bad porno-foreplay dialogue--is a strange blend of open-mindedness, culture shock and mild dread, not so much because it's two men having sex but that the movie actually starts out like a bad porno.

In the company of men

SEATTLE -- I like the idea of book clubs so much that I once started one. It all sounds so good in theory; who doesn't want an excuse to spend time with friends while feeling smugly intellectual? It surely makes us better people, and makes up for many hours spent shopping and devouring tabloids.

The venture was embarrassingly short-lived. I'm all for reading, but when it came down to it, I suppose I'd rather say I belong to a book club than actually be in one. And, full disclosure, the real reason I started a book club was so I could be president.

That's why I was a bit miffed, frankly, when I heard about a boys' book club that not only has a name (BBB, short for Boys, Beer and Books) but has been operating successfully for almost five years. Having failed to make my own book club last more than a month, I was both curious and skeptical that men, of all people, could somehow do it better.
