The resurrected proposal to open an internet domain reserved for porn web sites is looking less likely to succeed, with ICANN's board of directors last week expressing 'serious concerns' about it. A majority of ICANN's directors are concerned that .xxx may not be wanted by the adult entertainment industry it would purport to serve, according to minutes of a February 12 ICANN board meeting published Friday. .
Casino kid's 2am ordeal
A NEATLY dressed 8-year-old girl left at the entrance of a Durban casino for seven hours, while her parents gambled the night away was the victim of parental abuse. This is the view of Joan van Niekerk, national co-ordinator of Childline. Van Niekerk has now called on Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World and other casinos to report the child's parents as well as the many others who treat their children in a similar manner to child welfare authorities so that their behaviour as parents could be monitored. Because of their neglect of the child, the girl's parents have been banned by Suncoast Casino from entering the casino and surrounding area for three months. But the short ban has been criticised by Childline as not "solving anything". "This is another situation of appalling parental responsibility and boils down to child abuse and neglect.
Jail and Child Support??
Here is the story: CANTON, Mass. (Feb. ) - Bobby Brown was ordered on Monday to remain in a county jail until he pays $19,000 in late child support and court fees, his lawyer said. "We're diligently working on getting those funds available from outside sources," said Phaedra Parks, an attorney in Atlanta where Brown currently lives. They make this out like it's a huge deal, right? Doesn't Whitney have a crap load of money, too? I do believe that fathers (based on income of the Mom and Dad) should be responsible for providing finacial support; however, if Bobby Brown was a regular Joe and Whitney Houston a regular Jane: No one would be doing anything.
