| Crapshoot for Vegas franchise
The center of gambling in the United States, Las Vegas, is marketed as "The Entertainment Capital of the World." It is also commonly known as "Sin City" or "Vice City" due to the popularity of legalized gambling, availability of alcoholic beverages at any time, and various forms and degrees of adult entertainment. Yet, Vegas lacks a professional sports team. After some extensive research on the topic, I'll tell you why. Las Vegas was ranked as the 29th largest city in the United States in 2000, but recent surveys suggest that the city's population has since surpassed that of Atlanta, Nashville, Washington D.C., Louisville, Denver and Boston to place it 22nd in rank with a population of just over 1.6 million. So what's the problem? Let us start with a semi obvious one: sports betting and gambling.
Talk of adult entertainment has township review zoning

Cafe owners have not confirmed the sale nor any plans if the club were sold.By Andy RogersDaily Telegram Staff WriterADRIAN TWP. — Township leaders are posturing to prevent a purported adult entertainment business from opening in the Adrian area after hearing rumors about the potential sale of the LA Cafe. Two of the club's owners, however, say they don't know what kind of enterprise may take over their business.Adrian Township Supervisor Jim Koehn said he believes buzz about a potential adult entertainment business at the night club is credible. He asked the Adrian Township Board of Trustees this week to start working on ways to prevent such a business from opening.
Meridian teams with Ferrari for F80 home entertainment system
No, it's not surprising in the least that Ferrari has found yet another firm willing to cater to their every demand in order to form a distinct partnership, but regardless, the automotive firm is looking to sweep the rug out from under your current home entertainment setup with the F80. Teamed up with Meridian Audio, the same folks who channeled HD content from your iPod to your TV, Ferrari is delving into yet another consumer electronics realm by coordinating an oddly-shaped and still mysterious "home entertainment center." Aside from looking more like a semi-circle and less like an AV component, the device purportedly packs DAB / FM / AM tuning, a CD / DVD player (no word on HD DVD / Blu-ray just yet), and 80-watts of power dispersed through the two front-firing speakers and rear-mounted subwoofer.
Flat-panel TVs offer placement, furnishing options
Today's flat-panel TV sets are good news for small rooms. Not since the proliferation of 24-inch-deep refrigerators and blow-up beds has there been such an ally to tight space. Slim, space-saving plasma and LCD displays provide installation options - and thus furniture arrangements - that had been impossible. The depth of a 42-inch flat-panel display is only 3 1/2 inches, and a 50-inch screen is about 4 inches deep. These sets can be hung on a wall or from a ceiling, allowing you to enjoy large-screen entertainment without losing precious floor space. And because the equipment is no longer so large, the support piece beneath no longer has to be overwhelming. That means the near obsolescence of hulking TV armoires. Although these were a good idea when sets were bulkier, they are definitely last year's news.

Not quite black and white
With her "brace face", granny glasses, '80s hairstyle and dependably cringe-worthy wardrobe choices, Betty Suarez is an unlikely trendsetter. And yet in the months since her debut last September on American TV, this gawky-looking outsider has become that and much more. The main character on the Golden Globe-winning Ugly Betty, a one-hour dramedy that premieres on Sunday, March 4, on MediaCorp TV Channel 5, Betty is nothing less than a worldwide phenomenon. After starting life as the focus of a Colombian soap called Yo Soy Betty, la Fea (I Am Betty, the Ugly), the small screen's leading fashion victim was transplanted to US TV by Mexican actress Salma Hayek and has since appeared in scores of other countries in translated or adapted versions. Not bad for a nerd from a working-class Latino immigrant family in New York City.
