Atlanta Magician Debbie Leifer Makes Award History

Atlanta/EWORLDWIRE/March 2, 2007 --- Debbie Leifer, a top Atlanta corporate magician, was recently named Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year. Leifer is the only female Corporate Magician in Atlanta, and the only one since the award's inception 35 years ago to receive the honor. In February 2007, after two rounds of voting by members of the Atlanta chapters of the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Ms. Leifer was awarded the prestigious title "2006 Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year."

Approximately 3% of all magicians in the world are female. In the 35-year history of the Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year Award, only two other women have taken home the title, one children's entertainer and one hobbyist, making Leifer the only female corporate magician to have ever received this entertainment industry honor.

Once in a lifetime experience: Controlling Doomwalker

We've already talked about Fel Reavers even when The Burning Crusade was still in beta phase. They're actually level 70 demonic machines which guard the Hellfire Peninsula. Then, a couple of days ago, Blizzard Entertainment provided a fix for the "It's a Fel Reaver, but with Heart" quest to keep the thing from breaking.

A stealth change was implemented last Tuesday to the Gnomish Universal Remote. The change was rather saddening because prior to that, engineers could actually control Fel Reavers and even mechanical mobs in Tempest Keep.

One warrior was even able to control Doomwalker. But because of the fix, everything is nothing but a proud memory now. (If you're not familiar with Doomwalker, it is actually an elite boss Fel Reaver. It can be found outside the Black Temple in Shadowmoon Valley.) The warrior mentioned that it has the same exact abilities as that of a normal Fel Reaver except for a few differences that are more demonic than you can even imagine.

Reverend Has Love of Life, Politics, Music

The Rev. Leonard Barr, 53, Associate Minister at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago for 32 years, had a bad health scare a few months ago, but his love for life was never in danger. In early January, Barr came down with pneumonia and spent three days on life support. He was told he needed time in recovery and had a few places recommended. Barr chose Concord Extended Care Center, 9401 S. Ridgeland Ave., in Oak Lawn. Concord was recommended and Barr is glad he choose Concord. "They spoil their residents, I was blown away and moved by the gestures of the staff here," said Barr. Secretary of State Jesse White came to visit Barr last week and was impressed with the facility. "Concord has a professional staff and wonderful facility, if I had to recommended a facility for a family member I would recommend this place," said White over a conference call.

Report finds state's schools substandard on arts

The vast majority of California's schools fail to meet state standards for teaching the arts, according to a study released Thursday.

The Menlo Park-based William and Flora Hewlett Foundation commissioned the study, which was conducted by Menlo Park-based independent research institute SRI International. The Ford Foundation provided additional support for the study.

More recording artists bypass major record labels; Burns & Levinson entertainment attorney George N. Tobia Jr. raises issues in the new music arena

BOSTON--LAWFUEL - Entertainment Law News -As a growing number of singers and other recording artists bypass major record labels in favor of distributing music via the Internet, questions persist regarding the financial future of the music industry, says George N. Tobia Jr., an entertainment and media lawyer for Boston-based Burns & Levinson.

The good news is that, as with self-publishing, recording artists are able to distribute their music directly to an audience without using a record label, said Tobia, chairman of Burns & Levinsons Entertainment & Media Law Group. But when these artists attain notoriety, how do they benefit financially with no backing from a record label? That will be a key question in the music industry, for artists and labels alike.

Davidson helps 'launch' new PS3 F1 game.

Super Aguri F1's Anthony Davidson stopped off in London on Thursday to help launch the 'Formula One Championship Edition' game for the Playstation 3.

Davidson was joined by ITV F1's Martin Brundle and Radio 5 Live pit-lane reporter, Holly Samos, as Sony Computer Entertainment unveiled its latest F1 game, which will be available in the shops in the UK towards the end of this month, when the PS3 hits the shelves.

Speaking at the do, Davidson, who is a big fan of such games, noted that he has been 'blown away' by this latest offering: "Keeping up with the latest technology has always been one of my favourite past times and playing computer games offers an enjoyable way to relax away from the track. The advancements made to Playstation 3 have blown me away," he confirmed.

STUDIO BRIEFING TV: March 2, 2007

The giant Creative Artists Agency apparently got more than it bargained for after it announced that it had signed conservative talk-show host Michael Savage as a client this week. No sooner had his name been added to its roster than Savage ranted on the air against another CAA client, singer Melissa Etheridge, who thanked her wife, Tammy Lyn Michaels, when she accepted an Oscar during Sunday's televised Academy Awards presentations. "I don't like a woman married to a woman," Savage railed. "It makes me want to puke." As for children raised by two women, Savage stormed, "I think it's child abuse." CAA quickly found itself in the center of the conflict. Late on Thursday, E! Entertainment's website said that it had received a terse email from a CAA representative that read only: "No longer rep him." JESUS DOCUMENTARY DRAWING MORE FIREThe Rev.
