Australia Celebrates 60 Years Of Ferrari

The Australian celebrations for the 60th Anniversary of Ferrari started today (2 March 2007) with a gala VIP evening to welcome to Australia the 60th Anniversary Ferrari Baton Team which is circumnavigating the world to link more than six months of global celebrations.

More than 250 Ferrari owners, politicians, diplomats and racing drivers gathered at the Crown Entertainment Complex to see the diamond encrusted platinum Ferrari Baton arrive in Melbourne. The Baton was formally presented by Matteo Bonciani, Communications Director for Ferrari's Asia-Pacific Region to Tony File, the National President of the Ferrari Club Australia, who will be the first Australian Ferrari owner amongst the 10,0000 Ferrari owners who will carry the Ferrari 60th Anniversary baton around the world.

Tomorrow (Saturday 3 March) it will lead more than 100 Ferraris on a 60th anniversary Cavalcade to Lygon Street, where the centre piece of '2007 Grand Prix Festival Celebrating Ferrari's 60th Anniversary' will be the demonstration of a Ferrari Formula One car.


Eugene Levy to host Canada's Walk of Fame

Funny guy Eugene Levy has been tapped to host CTV's 2007 Canada's Walk of Fame event, to be held on Saturday, June 9 at Toronto's Hummingbird Centre. Known for his role as a comedic actor, a producer, and a writer and director, the 2006 Walk of Fame inductee will be on hand to celebrate the achievements of some of Canada's best-loved entertainers. Peter Soumalias, the Founder, CEO and President of Canada's Walk of Fame, complimented Levy, saying, "Eugene is a warm and generous person who, through wit and self-deprecating charm will set the right tone for the broadcast." "It's such an incredible honour to be hosting the show this year, considering I have absolutely no wrestling experience," said Levy.

Established in 1998, Canada's Walk of Fame honours icons from the arts, entertainment, and sports with an annual event, which has been broadcast on CTV for the past 3 years.
